סימן קד סעיף יט

מֻתָּר לָלֶכֶת חוּץ לַתְּחוּם, בֵּין בְּרַגְלָיו בֵּין בְּקָרוֹן בֵּין רָכוּב.

You are permitted to go outside the techum, either on foot or in a vehicle,⁵²You are allowed to repair your vehicle for travel to meet a friend or to profit in order to purchase holiday necessities. But you may not do so in order to profit for other needs. (Peri Megadim 536:1) Going on an outing is considered a Yom Tov need, and you may repair your vehicle to go on one. (Shulchan Aruch, Ramah 536:1) or on horseback.
