סימן קכז סעיף ז

אִם קִבֵּל עָלָיו סְתָם לְהִתְעַנּוֹת, חַיָּב לְהַשְׁלִים עַד צֵאת הַכּוֹכָבִים, אֲפִלּוּ בְּעֶרֶב שַׁבָּת (תקסב).

If you committed yourself to fast without being specific, you must complete the fast until the stars come out, even on erev Shabbos.⁸Ramah, however, rules, according to the Poskim, who maintain that on erev Shabbos, it is sufficient to fast until the congregation leaves the synagogue, after they accepted Shabbos (Kabbolas Shabbos).
