סימן יא סעיף יח

בְּמָקוֹם שֶׁתִּינוֹקוֹת מְצוּיִים אוֹ שֶׁלִּפְעָמִים רוֹחֲצִין שָׁם אוֹ שֶׁמַּשְׁתִּינִים שָׁם, יְכַסֶּה אֶת הַמְּזוּזָה. וְדַוְקָא בְּהִזְדַּמְּנוּת דֶּרֶךְ אַרְעַי, סוֹמְכִים עַל הַכִּסּוּי. אֲבָל לִקְבֹּעַ שָׁם תַּשְׁמִישׁ בִּזָּיּוֹן לְהַעֲמִיד שָׁם כְּלִי לְשׁוֹפְכִין, אֵין לִסְמֹךְ עַל הַכִּסּוּי.

In a place where children are usually found or in a room where people sometimes bathe, or urinate the mezuzah should be covered. It is only when these practices are occasional that we may rely on the covering; however, if something odious is permanently installed, for example, when a urinal is placed near the mezuzah, we cannot rely merely on covering the mezuzah.
