סימן קכא סעיף ג

ב. עֲשָׂרָה בְּטֵבֵת, סָמַךְ מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל, נְבוּכַדְנֶצַר הָרָשָׁע עַל יְרוּשָׁלַיִם וְהֵבִיאָהּ בְּמָצוֹר וּבְמָצוֹק, וּמִזֶּה נִמְשַׁךְ הַחֻרְבָּן.

The tenth day of Teiveis (is a fast day), because the king of Babylonia, the wicked Nebuchadnezzar, approached Jerusalem, and laid seige to it and crushed it; and this ultimately led to the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash.

תנא דבי אליהו כל השונה הלכות בכל יום מובטח לו שהוא בן העולם הבא שנאמר הליכות עולם לו אל תקרי הליכות אלא הלכות (נדה ע"ג.)
