סימן קלג סעיף כה

יֵש לְבַטֵּל הַמִּנְהָג שֶׁהַגּוֹי מַדְלִיק נֵרוֹת לְצֹרֶךְ אֲמִירַת הַפִּיוּטִים בִּנְעִילָה, אֶלָּא הַנֵּרוֹת הַדּוֹלְקִים, יְפַזְּרֵם בְּכָל בֵּית הַכְּנֶסֶת, דְּזֶה הֲוֵּי שְׁבוּת דִּשְּׁבוּת.

We should abolish the custom of having a non-Jew light candles for the purpose of saying the special poetic prayers in Ne'ilah, but he should distribute the burning candles throughout the synagogue, because the prohibition involved in this is only a derivation of a Rabbinical injunction.
