סימן ס סעיף א

הָרוֹאֶה אִילָנֵי מַאֲכָל שֶׁמּוֹצִיאִין פֶּרַח, מְבָרֵךְ בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹקֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁלֹּא חִסֵּר בְּעוֹלָמוֹ כְּלוּם וּבָרָא בּוֹ בְּרִיּוֹת טוֹבוֹת וְאִילָנוֹת טוֹבִים לֵהָנוֹת בָּהֶם בְּנֵי אָדָם. וְאֵינוֹ מְבָרֵךְ אֶלָּא פַּעַם אַחַת בְּכָל שָׁנָה. וְאִם אֵחֵר מִלְּבָרֵךְ עַד שֶׁגָּדְלוּ הַפֵּרוֹת, לֹא יְבָרֵךְ עוֹד. יֵשׁ אוֹמְרִים דְּאִם לֹא בֵּרַךְ בַּפַּעַם הָרִאשׁוֹנָה שֶׁרָאָה אֶת הַפְּרָחִים, שׁוּב לֹא יְבָרֵךְ (מחה"ש סִימָן רכ"ו)

Upon seeing a fruit tree in bloom, you should say: Baruch ata Adonoy, Elokeino melech ha'olam shelo chiseir be'olamo kelum uvara vo beriyos tovos ve'ilonos tovim leihanos bahem benei adam, [Blessed are You, Hashem, our God, King of the universe, Who caused nothing to be lacking in His universe, and He created in it goodly creatures and goodly trees, to give mankind pleasure therewith]. You recite this berachah only once a year. But if you delayed saying the berachah until the fruit grew, then you should no longer say it. Some authorities hold that if you neglected to say the berachah when you saw the blossoms for the first time, you should no longer say it.¹Mishnah Berurah rules that as long as the fruit has not grown, you may say the berachah, even if you failed to say it at the first sighting of the blossoms.
