סימן פז סעיף ו

שְׁתֵּי בְּהֵמוֹת אוֹ יוֹתֵר שֶׁהֵן קְשׁוּרוֹת זוֹ בָזוֹ, וְהוּא תּוֹפֵס בְּיָדוֹ אַפְסָר אֶחָד וְכֻלָּן נִמְשָׁכוֹת זוֹ אַחַר זוֹ, אָסוּר לַעֲשׂוֹת כֵּן בַּשַׁבָּת, אֲפִלּוּ בְּעִיר הַמְתֻקֶּנֶת בְּעֵרוּבִין. אֲבָל מֻתָּר לִתְפּוֹס כַּמָּה אַפְסְרֵי בְהֵמוֹת בְּיָדוֹ לְהוֹלִיכָן, כְּדֶרֶךְ שֶׁנִּתְבָּאֵר בְּסָּעִיף שֶׁלִּפְנֵי זֶה.

When two or more animals are tied together and by holding one rein all are led, one following the other, it is forbidden to do this on Shabbos,¹⁵The appearance is that of animals taken to market. even in a city where an eiruv has been established. But, you may hold a number of reins in your hand to lead them [the animals], if you do it the way it was explained in the previous paragraph.
